Meet Peter Ticali — Your Lead Instructor

I’m Peter Ticali, founder and lead instructor of NY Safe Inc. For more than 30 years, I’ve been a dedicated firearms enthusiast, a committed Second Amendment advocate, and a community servant who believes that responsible armed citizenship is a cornerstone of personal freedom.

I built NY Safe because New York’s firearms licensing system is one of the most complex in the nation — and most people navigating it are doing so without a guide. I’ve spent decades learning every layer of that system, earning credentials across multiple disciplines, and building relationships with law enforcement, legal experts, and fellow instructors who keep me sharp. The result is a structured training program designed to take students from application to approval with confidence.

My students don’t just leave with a certificate. They leave with knowledge, confidence, and a clear legal roadmap — whether they’re a first-time applicant in Nassau County or a seasoned carrier adding states to their portfolio.

Who NY Safe Serves

First-time applicants in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Brooklyn, and Westchester who need the 18-hour class and permit application guidance from start to finish.

Experienced carriers looking to expand into NJ, CT, RI, MA, MD, DC, PA, FL, AZ, NH, or UT — stacking multiple licenses with one trusted instructor.

New gun owners who want more than a certificate — foundational safety, legal literacy, situational awareness, and the confidence to carry responsibly.

NY Ammo Law — We’ve Got You Covered

When New York’s ammunition background check law took effect, most gun owners were left scrambling. NY Safe stepped up — becoming a NY State Police Licensed Seller of Ammunition (SOA). Our SOA registration allows NY residents to receive ammunition transfers from online retailers legally and conveniently. We work directly with vendors like TargetSports USA and Lucky Gunner to keep your ammo pipeline open and fully compliant.

Why Train With NY Safe?

DCJS-Compliant 18-Hour NY CCW Class

NY Safe offers the full 18-hour NY CCW class required by New York State for unrestricted carry permits. Taught by a credentialed instructor with decades of personal carry, multi-state licensing, and real-world training experience.

Multi-State Licensing Under One Roof

Maximize your carry footprint. Our modular course structure helps you qualify for permits in NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA, MD, DC, PA, FL, AZ, NH, and UT — with a single trusted instructor who knows each state’s requirements cold.

Notary Public On-Site

As a licensed New York State Notary Public, Peter can notarize your pistol license application paperwork right in class — saving you time, trips, and hassle.

Constitutional & Legal Literacy Baked In

NY Safe closely follows New York firearms law, major Second Amendment cases like Bruen, Rahimi, and Wolford v. Lopez, and the practical compliance issues permit holders face — and teaches students how the law affects their rights in plain language.

First Aid & Active Shooter Training Available

Beyond the range: USCCA-certified instruction in First Aid, Active Shooter Response, and Children’s Firearms Safety — because responsible ownership means being prepared for every scenario.

Accessible Training for Real New Yorkers

NY’s political climate makes it expensive enough to exercise your rights. NY Safe fights to keep training costs fair and ammo accessible — because the Second Amendment isn’t just for the wealthy.
