Customer Pre-Registration

Complete this once and we’ll have your profile on file for every future transfer. This is not a transfer request — it’s your NICS profile so we’re ready when you are.

Already registered? Don’t submit this form again. Return to the ammo transfer page and contact us to confirm your slot before placing your order.

Before You Fill This Out

Why We Need This Information

You may notice this form asks for more personal information than a typical service signup — including your Social Security Number, date of birth, and physical description. Here’s exactly why.

New York State law requires us to submit specific identifying information to the NYS NICS system before we can transfer any ammunition to you. This is the same information required by law for every ammunition transfer in New York — we are not collecting anything beyond what the state mandates. We have no discretion to skip or reduce these fields.

🔒
Your data is used only for NICS compliance
We do not sell, share, or use your information for any purpose other than processing your NYS NICS background check as required by law.
📋
One registration covers all future transfers
Once your profile is on file, every future transfer is faster. You will not need to re-submit this information for subsequent orders.
State-mandated — not our choice
Every licensed NYS Seller of Ammunition is required to collect this same information. This is NY Penal Law § 400.03, not NY Safe policy.

What Happens Next

After You Submit

1
We receive and review your registration
We’ll confirm receipt and let you know your profile is on file. This is not automatic — a real person reviews every registration.
2
Contact us to confirm a storage slot
Before placing your online order, reach out to confirm we have available capacity. Do not order until your slot is confirmed. This is a critical step — we have limited storage and cannot always guarantee same-week availability.
3
Place your online order
Order from any online retailer that ships to a licensed NYS Seller of Ammunition. Use our Hauppauge address as the destination. We are listed on TargetSports USA and Lucky Gunner — search zip code 11788 for NY SAFE INC.
4
Submit your transfer request
Once your order is placed, submit a transfer request with your order details and tracking number. We’ll take it from there.

Your NICS Profile

Complete Your Pre-Registration

All fields are required by NYS NICS unless marked optional. Your information is transmitted securely and used only for background check compliance.

Why we ask for your Social Security Number: The NYS NICS system uses your SSN as a primary identifier to conduct the mandatory background check required by NY Penal Law § 400.03. Without it, we cannot legally process your transfer. Your SSN is submitted directly to NYS NICS and is not stored in our systems beyond what is required by law.
